After enduring the most tumultuous year in modern day history, we couldn’t think of a better way to begin 2021 than with this styled wedding shoot titled, “The Journey.” For the first time ever, the entire wedding industry was halted on a global scale. Fashion designers converted their workshops into PPE production stations, planners scrambled to adjust wedding logistics to follow social distancing protocol, and many couples opted to elope with only an officiant and wedding photographer present. Still, not even a global pandemic could stop designers and content creators from putting together beautifully stylized photo shoots (safely, of course) to inspire those who will be celebrating love in the future.
“With our latest work, ‘The Journey,’ we wanted to project a journey of hope,” explains Anna from Anna Lacivita Designs and Jarar Kazmi, Creative Director and co-owner of L'Atelier Lumiere International Photographie. “During these dark and unprecedented times, we long for a glimmer of hope and a light at the end of the tunnel. The angel wings symbolize guidance to a better place, courage for a better future, and faith to believe in what you cannot see. The sharp and extreme contrasts of light and dark, creates a world of dreams and possibility for the viewers. These contrasts strengthen the focus of movement and rhythm in the piece and help us see the beauty the world still has to offer.”
Captured at the L’Atelier Lumiere Studio in Toronto, Canada, “The Journey” features model Lisa Galloway wearing Mila Nova’s “Audrey” dress from Blushing Bridal Boutique, along with a custom engagement ring, Accessories by Taila, and Jimmy Choo shoes. Hair by Shannon Petrolito and makeup by Allyssa Helm Beauty and Co. complete the look.
Planner, Anna Lacivita Designs, took every detail into consideration when filling in the ambiance with gorgeous accents and décor. Peachwood Floral provided the flowers; Plate Occasions provided the linen; the China was by Jasper Conran for Wedgwood; Table Tales provided the charger plates, cutlery, and glassware; and the furniture was from Wedding Décor Mall. Design With Viv created graphics for a bespoke touch, and Event Graffiti designed the vinyl backdrop and floor graphics – two décor details that always add a stylish twist to any luxury celebration.
Finally, the inspiration shoot is made even more spectacular with an all-white masterpiece from Fine Cakes by Zehra. Even within the confines of a Toronto photo studio, it’s incredible to see how talented wedding and event professionals can create such a detailed and fantasy-like aesthetic that is both contemporary and classic.
