For this week’s Tabletop Thursday, we’re bringing you an opulent styled shoot created by Marigold Design House. As a team of three sisters, the Seattle-based planning and design company is bringing a fresh aesthetic of modern luxury to the Pacific Northwest. We had a chat with Aeisha Bhatti to learn more about the inspiration behind this crimson-filled shoot and what inspires her as an event designer.

GO: What was your inspiration for this styled shoot?
A: Having roots of European-Asian heritage and being exposed to various cultures living abroad, our inspiration mainly comes from architectural design, culture and art. This led us to select the historical city of Jaipur, India’s “Pink Jewel,” as inspiration behind this styled shoot. Jaipur’s urban grandeur, majestic architecture, royal heritage and grand gateways carry influences from Mughal, Rajput and British rule, acting as a catalyst into our creative direction.

GO: The Pacific Northwest is known for its rustic, low-key aesthetic. What are you hoping to show Seattle area brides and grooms in terms of more modern and creative wedding designs
A: The Pacific Northwest is naturally very organic, and neutrals have their moment in the spotlight; but to tastefully add color brings depth and character to any event. We love enhancing and enriching rather than changing. Events do not need to be over the top to signify luxury. It’s using statement pieces such as chandeliers, fountains and floral installs to produce and complete the look of the show.

GO: As an event designer, what inspires Marigold Design House when piecing together the perfect wedding?
A: Marigold Design House does not believe in trends, but instead that every celebration is a story that reflects the client’s personality. We work to articulate the client’s dream, so the spirit, grace and style is felt by each guest. Our approach is to create a refined and timeless design while infusing personal touches that are unique to our clients. Our South Asian roots teach us the value of being personable, and we strive to incorporate that at every event by keeping our design aesthetic unique and innovative.

GO: Do you have any advice for couples planning a wedding in the Pacific Northwest?
A: Our advice to couples is to channel their inner personalities, and let their planners and designers help in building a vision and creating a space from the ground up. Research and hire professionals that may be able to tastefully tap into this experience and execute the event with implausible attention to detail.
