Sherma Poshneh & Arash Foroutan

Arash and Sherma had known each other for many years before they began dating. Sherma’s friends thought that Arash would be perfect for her, while Arash’s friends kept telling him that Sherma wasn’t his type.

On a fateful Halloween night in 2006, all the mutual friends cleared out and left the two alone together, allowing their theories to be put to the test. Sherma recalled, “One of my favorite songs came on and he asked me to dance with him. I knew right then and there that I had to give this guy a chance.”

The next night, the two went on their first date. “I instantly knew that if I were to date Arash, that I would marry him. He is truly one of the most beautiful and pure people I have ever met. He does not have any bad intentions and has a heart of gold. He is what every man should be!” They have been inseparable since that first date. Four and a half years later, it was time for the next step.

"Arash and I were supposed to go to dinner with our close friends. When we got to their house the door was unlocked and so we just walked it. I knew something was up because I could see candle lights flickering and could hear music playing. Once we turned the corner I saw candles and flowers everywhere.

He had written “Will You Marry Me?” with rose petals on the ground. When I turned to him he was on one knee. I then realized that the very first song we had danced to on Halloween was playing in the background. The best part is that it was all captured with a hidden camera!! I said YES! and the rest, is history."
