When I came home from work one day, Karim had left a rose on my door. There was a note explaining that once inside I should follow the trail. I opened the door and found rose petals and candles on the floor.
At the end of the trail was Karim. At that point, I was very confused! He was nervous and started talking about how much he loves me. Then he proposed! I wasn’t expecting it at all and was pleasantly surprised.
“WE IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE!”
When we began planning our big day, my best friend told me about Cathedrale Saint Sauveur, a beautiful Melkite Catholic Church in Montreal. We decided to go see it and immediately fell in love! It was beautiful and enchanting and perfect for our wedding.
We wanted our wedding to represent Karim’s Syrian roots as well as my Italian roots. The church was the same one he had attended in Syria, and so we chose Le crystal for the traditional Italian food and the modern-looking venue.
We played a variety of music throughout the celebration: contemporary during dinner, lounge music and some house music for dancing, and of course some Italian and a lot of Arabic music. The music gave life to the party; everyone loved it!
The day after, we left on a two week Mediterranean cruise. We wanted a mix of relaxation and adventure and decided a cruise would be our best option!
Our experience was unforgettable; it was a dream come true. We went to Italy, Barcelona, France, Malta, and Montenegro. It was the best feeling to wake up in the morning to the different scenery of a different country.
