    ELIZABETH WEIKES AND ADAM KAPNER

NOVEMBER 9, 2013 IN AMELIA ISLAND, FLORIDA

Liz Weikes and Adam Kapner met during the summer of 2009 in the beautiful Hamptons of Long Island. Prior to the Hamptons Memorial Day weekend kickoff, Liz and Adam had briefly crossed paths at a “meet and greet” in New York City. It was during this event where Liz’s sister said, “I think you and Kapner might hit it off this summer!” Liz laughed and replied, “Over my dead body!”

However, Adam had his eye on Liz instantly, and they shared their first kiss shortly after Memorial Day. They fell in love in the Hamptons that summer.

"ADAM HAD HIS EYE ON LIZ INSTANTLY"

The weekend of November 8, 2013, their wedding weekend, was there before they knew it. That Friday the guests arrived. They relaxed in the sun and enjoyed all of the amenities the beautiful Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island had to offer. During the day, the groomsmen enjoyed lunch together, as the bridesmaids bonded in the spa. Later in the evening, Liz and Adam welcomed all 160 guests at the Golf Club of Amelia Island, where they were treated to a barbecue rehearsal dinner, complete with delicious food, a steel-pan trio and s’mores toasted over open fire pits.

November 9 finally arrived, and excitement was in the air. The bridal party gathered bright and early in the bridal suite and enjoyed breakfast while hair and makeup artists began to work their magic. The groomsmen had it a little easier. Their main job was showing up in their tuxes and keeping the groom calm!

Overlooking the scenic dunes and Atlantic ocean and with a string quartet playing Pachelbel’s Canon, the bride was escorted by her father down the aisle. The groom looked on in admiration of his beautiful bride. Standing under a chuppah adorned with a chandelier, the bride and groom exchanged their own vows, as the co-celebrants gave their blessing and introduced the couple for the first time. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and then proceeded to the grand ballroom for an evening of dining and dancing. Adding to the festivities was a photo booth, cigar-roller, candy buffet and sparkler sendoff.

The months of planning paid off with a wonderful celebration. The couple showed their appreciation for and said farewell to all the guests with brunch at Salt restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton on Sunday.
