Although Larissa Jansen and Felipe Althoff lived close to each other and had many friends in common, they never met until 2013. It was their best friend, Emanuel, who finally made the introduction. During their first conversation, the two discovered several similarities, which prompted them to spend more time together.
Before long, Larissa and Felipe felt like they had known each other for years, and thoroughly enjoyed their conversations about travel, family, dreams and ideas – all, accompanied by good wine. On April 15, 2015, Felipe proposed during a candlelit dinner on a remote island in El Nido, Philippines.
“ON OUR TENTH ANNIVERSARY, WE WILL CELEBRATE AT THE SAME PLACE”
During the wedding planning process, Larissa recruited a talented list of vendors to perfectly execute every detail of the big day. All planning was completed well in advance, ensuring that everything was exactly as the couple had envisioned – a small reception in a cozy environment for 150 special guests, with great food, drinks, music and service.
Larissa and Felipe’s wedding day was met with the coldest weather southern Brazil had experienced in decades. The indoor celebration was a warm haven, and the bride and groom relished being surrounded by their loved ones during a beautiful church ceremony. After the nuptials, the reception turned into an epic party that didn’t stop until the sun came up.
For the wedding décor, the bride and groom’s main priority was their guests’ experience. Quality décor and service were well planned, but without any extravagance. A dessert table and wedding cake took center stage, complemented by flower arrangements and the newlyweds’ monogram on every detail. The menu was also carefully selected to represent the tastes of the bride and groom, and included a four-course meal prepared with ingredients from the region where they live.
“It was very rewarding the day after the party, to receive dozens of guest messages thanking us for the reception and praising the details,” the couple says. “We always tell our friends that we would not change anything and we would do it all over again. We even agreed that on our tenth anniversary, we will celebrate at the same place.”
