Josefina Farra and Aaron Talone met at a mutual friend’s party. The two felt an immediate attraction and had a wonderful time speaking with each other. Living in different cities, they slowly grew closer over the course of several months. “We started seeing each other every week, with one of us traveling to see the other every weekend,” Josefina explains. “It became very clear that we were meant for each other, and we became inseparable.”
Eventually, Aaron invited Josefina to travel with him to Italy and meet his extended family – a trip that solidified the significance and importance of their relationship. After they returned stateside, Aaron decided to move to Miami so he could be closer to his then-girlfriend. A few months later, during their first night of a vacation in the Dominican Republic, he popped the question.

The wedding planning process began as soon as the newly-engaged couple returned from their trip. Josefina and her mother began piecing together the details, knowing right away that the wedding was to be held at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Afterwards, Josefina enlisted the help of wedding planner and designer, Nicole Braghin of N Events, and the two developed a wonderful working relationship and friendship.
When the big day arrived, the bride and her bridesmaids got ready at her parents’ house, relaxing and spending some girl time laughing together. Meanwhile, the groom and his friends were prepping at the Four Seasons. The bride and groom also sent each other love letters before a touching wedding ceremony, which took place at their church, Epiphany.
For the reception, the lobby of the concert hall was transformed into a welcoming environment. The shelves behind the bar had the same finish as the shelves in the bride’s father’s library at home, and silver picture frames with images of both families were arranged for an extra personal touch. “We wanted to do something incredible and over-the-top, but not at all ostentatious,” Josefina describes. “We wanted a black-tie event that felt casual and comfortable all at once.”
From the lighting to the catering, each detail was flawlessly executed. Le Basque’s impeccable catering team even created a canape of an olive infused with vermouth – a nod to the groom’s love of martinis. As guests entered the reception space, they were surrounded by trees, garden roses, and candles. Lush runners of flowers were arranged on every table, filling the air with their sweet fragrance. Slippers were also passed out, so the ladies could dance as long as they wished.
“The sweets table was a collaboration between Le Basque and Antonio Bachour, designed by N Events,” Josefina adds. “It was the most beautiful I have ever seen, with foie gras macaroons and different mouthwatering creations. We danced all night; and when guests left, we gave them homemade limoncello – made by Aaron and I – and imported almonds from Italy with a sweet note.”
By the end of the night, the newlyweds were overwhelmed with happiness. It was also bittersweet, as such a monumental day came and went so quickly. “If we had to do it again, we would do it exactly the same,” says Josefina. “And we wish we could replay every moment over and over again!”
