    STEPHANIE SMART & ROSS DESMOND

May 2, 2015 in Limerick, Ireland

Stephanie Smart and Ross Desmond were both working in finance when they first met. Coincidentally, Stephanie’s boss invited Ross at the last minute to attend her Christmas party; and even though they sat at opposite ends of the table, she instantly caught Ross’ eye.

“He found me on Bloomberg Instant Messenger and messaged me first thing the next morning,” Stephanie says. “Our relationship basically started on Bloomberg–we just clicked instantly, and from then on messaged each other every minute of every day!”

"THE WEDDING DÉCOR AND AMBIANCE WAS EVERYTHING SHE HAD WANTED–INTIMATE, ETHEREAL, BEAUTIFUL, MAGICAL, AND FUN."

On December 9th, the couple’s three-year anniversary, they had just bought a Christmas tree when Ross got down on one knee and popped the question in Battersea Park. He had originally planned on proposing that evening at their favorite restaurant–La Petite Maison, where they had their first date – but suddenly decided he wanted a more private proposal. As it turns out, his spur-of-the-moment decision made for the perfect engagement.

The wedding planning process was an easy one, as the engaged couple had their wedding planner, Tara, transforming Stephanie’s wedding vision into a reality. By the time the big day arrived, the wedding décor and ambiance was everything she had wanted–intimate, ethereal, beautiful, magical, and fun.

Guests were completely blown away by the wedding décor, which included blossom trees, a pond in the middle of the main marquee, a stunning orchid flower wall, and a Vegas-inspired nightclub. Delicious food was served, and everyone danced the night away and stayed up past 7am, watching a boxing match with the bride and groom.

“Our friends and family made the whole weekend,” says the bride. “Although we had over 300 guests, it still felt incredibly intimate – so much love and laughter. At the end of the day we were feeling content, grateful, hungover, and ready for the honeymoon.”
