    ADIA KUZMA & JEREMY MACLIN

May 20th, 2017 in Saint Louis, Missouri

In 2010, Adia Kuzma and Jeremy Maclin were attending a social event in Atlantic City when their paths first crossed. “When we met, we weren’t looking for anything serious, but the attraction was most definitely there,” Adia recalls. “As we got to know each other better, those feelings grew into something much more. Over the course of our relationship, we overcame life’s ups and downs, and knew the next step was forever.”

During the summer of 2016, the couple was on their way to New Jersey for Adia’s niece’s birthday party. Upon arrival, however, Adia’s niece revealed she had a surprise for her inside. After being blindfolded, Adia was led into the house by her niece, where she could hear her family members chatting and teasing her by exclaiming, “I hope it doesn’t bite you!”

“OVER THE COURSE OF OUR RELATIONSHIP, WE OVERCAME LIFE’S UPS AND DOWNS, AND KNEW THE NEXT STEP WAS FOREVER.”

“As I finally took off the blindfold, I was so flustered,” Adia describes. “I saw only my dad and questioned why he was there since I thought he was supposed to be out of town. Hilariously, I didn’t even see Jeremy down on one knee until my dad told me to turn around. I spun around to see Jeremy with my whole family behind him. Without a moment of hesitation, I said yes!”

After their engagement, the couple’s wedding planning process began with finding the right planner. “The process was effortless on our end and, guided by Kate & Company, we knew that our guests were guaranteed an amazing party – which was of the utmost importance to us,” says Adia. “Jeremy and I believe that this wedding couldn’t have happened without their team approach, their eye for design, and their dedication to us and our guests’ experience.”

The wedding weekend began with a welcome party to greet guests traveling from out of town. That Saturday, a romantic, candlelit wedding ceremony was held. The only thing that broke the tears of happiness was the laughter that erupted when the bride couldn’t get the ring on the groom’s finger during their vows. “Our hearts were so full on our wedding day,” the bride adds. “There was an overwhelming amount of love and support that we have never felt before.”

As part of the evening’s entertainment, Adia’s father – a two-time Grammy Award-winning jazz saxophonist – performed with the band, and a friend of the newlyweds served as the DJ, keeping the party going into the wee hours of the morning.

“We were so exhausted from the weekend, but couldn’t even fall asleep because we didn’t want the day to end,” Adia reflects. “Looking back on our wedding experience, we wouldn’t change a single thing. It was truly perfect.”
