A Captivating Wedding in Toronto Filled with Romanticism and Grandeur
A modern day romance emerged when Filomena Grossi and David De Fulviis connected on the dating app, Hinge. After many conversations via text messaging and FaceTime, David planned their first date at a Northern Italian restaurant in Toronto, mindful of Filomena’s mother’s roots in that region of Italy. Filomena found David’s sense of humor and storytelling abilities to be charming, and there was an immediate sense of ease and connection that drew her to him.
“With Filomena, I just knew,” David shares. “She is beautiful in every way. She understood me completely and made everything so simple. She always made me feel loved, and right from the start, I knew she was the one for me.”

The proposal took place on a day when Filomena completed a half-marathon. It was a complete surprise, as the couple went for dinner with her parents to celebrate the run. Later that evening, David knelt down on one knee and popped the question.
The Wedding Planning Process
For Filomena, the wedding planning process was an incredible experience filled with unforgettable moments.
“I always dreamed of going wedding dress shopping with my mother,” she says, “and it truly was one of the best experiences. As soon as I found the dress, we both just knew it was the one.”
The bride wore a Galia Lahav wedding gown, featuring a gorgeous bodice with florals and vines that cascaded down onto the skirt.
“I was overcome with emotion during the first look with my father,” she adds. “It was at that moment I realized that Daddy’s little girl is all grown up. As I walked down the aisle, my focus was solely on David.”
Dream Wedding Details
Filomena and David’s wedding celebration unfolded seamlessly, with countless details coming together to bring their dream day to fruition.

From the beautiful gold acrylic menus, laser cut bar signs, and the striking floral graphics applied to the dance floor, Tina from So Pretty in Print totally enhanced the grandeur of the event. Frank Rea of Forget Me not Flowers, exceeded our expectations. Frank created custom, sky-high standing chandeliers set behind the head table and between guest tables, creating a canopy of romanticism. Anna and Frank were able to captivate our guests from the moment they walked into the space.”
One of the couple’s favorite moments was their reception reveal – especially when they spotted the beautiful floral arch created by Frank Rea, along with the masterpiece of a wedding cake created by Zehra Khan of Fine Cakes by Zehra.
“Seeing my wife’s vision come to life and witnessing her looking so beautiful and happy in her wedding dress made me incredibly happy,” says David.

A European Honeymoon
After their wedding, the newlyweds departed for a European honeymoon that included visits to Paris, Lake Como, Venice, Capri, and Rome.
“We dined at a variety of premier restaurants, wandered the charming streets, and soaked in the beauty of each destination,” Filomena recalls. “It was an unforgettable experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better honeymoon.”
