SPOSA BELLA COUTURE IS THE TOP DESIGNER BRIDAL SALON IN BIRMINGHAM, MICHIGAN

Midwest brides may be a plane ride away from the high-profile bridal fashion shows of NYC, Madrid, and Paris, but there’s no shortage of designer wedding gowns for the region’s most stylish brides-to-be. Located in Birmingham, Michigan, Sposa Bella Couture is a top designer bridal salon that caters to all brides – from the edgy and modern, to the timelessly elegant. We asked Silvana Lumaj, owner of Sposa Bella Couture, to share more about the salon and what Michigan brides can expect when shopping for their dream wedding dress.

GO: When did Sposa Bella Couture first open?

A: 2009

GO: Which high-end bridal designers do you currently stock?

A: Anne Barge, Berta Privee, Leah Da Gloria, Lee Petra Grebenau, Lian Rokman, Peter Langner, and Tony Ward.

GO: Who are some of the most popular bridal designers among your clientele?

A: All of our designers are equally popular, and there is a style for every bride.

For classic simple elegance reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O, we recommend Anne Barge and Peter Langner. For the edgy bride who wants a unique look with detail, Lian Rokman and Lee Petra are beautiful options. For a tastefully sexy, wow-factor, we have Berta Privee. And for the ultimate statement dresses, Tony Ward and Leah Da Gloria embody modern royalty.

GO: Do brides-to-be have to book an appointment to shop for dresses?

A: Yes, that is preferred; however, we will try to accommodate walk-ins when possible.

GO: Ideally, how far in advance should a bride purchase her wedding gown?

A: We recommend brides order nine months in advance and allow three months for alterations after the gown is received. So start shopping a little before a year out from your wedding.

GO: What advice do you have for brides in search of the perfect wedding dress?

A: Focus on what makes you feel most bridal and beautiful. Oftentimes a bride will try on many dresses and feel beautiful in all of them. Of course! She is a beautiful woman and the gowns are beautiful. But ultimately, she has to think, “What makes me feel like a bride?” That’s the difference between buying an evening dress and a wedding gown.

GO: Are there any bridal fashion trends that stand out to you this year?

A: Every year new trends come and go. Keeping up with them is less important than focusing on what the bride wants and fulfilling her desired vision. All our brides are so unique that they create their own trends. A gown that accentuates her beauty and personal style is timeless.

GO: Do you offer any additional services to brides during the dress shopping process? (ex: Tailoring, custom ordering, etc.)

A: We offer alterations in-house done by our very talented seamstress. She is an Artist!

GO: What special amenities do you offer brides-to-be when they book a wedding dress shopping appointment?

A: When a bride says yes, we love to celebrate by popping open a bottle of champagne!
