Dress: Francesca Miranda; Style: Selene

Francesca Miranda released her Spring 2018 collection during New York Bridal Fashion Week, which was a beautiful presentation of blush fabrics, unique textures, and feminine appliques. The Colombia-based fashion designer shared with us the inspiration behind her wedding dresses, as well as her favorite gown from next season’s line.

GOWS: What is your favorite dress in this collection and why?
A: I obviously fall in love with each gown, but one of my favorite ones this season is the Selene gown. It's the perfect combination of sexy and effortless – very easy to wear.

GOWS: What did you like about designing this collection?
A: It is very fashion forward. I enjoyed bringing some of my experience from the couture area to bridal.

GOWS: Where did you draw inspiration from this season?
A: This season I decided the use of color was going to be prominent. Shades of pink were the colors of choice. I'm always looking for something different; a new illusion for brides to fall in love with.

GOWS: What trends are you looking forward to seeing on brides?
A: The bell sleeve! I love it, and can't wait to see it on real brides.

GOWS: What is your favorite wedding style?
A: It's the one that fits the bride. I love to see different brides with different tastes and how each one finds her way.

GOWS: Who and what inspires you as a designer?
A: To me, the essence of a woman is always inspiring. How she wants to be herself on her wedding day, feel unique and beautiful. That is always my starting point. I'm inspired in making a difference when I design, and I strive for that.
